Terms and Conditions

Last updated: February 26, 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website rentgocrete.com (the “Website”) and the car rental offers promoted through our concept “Car Rental Crete No Deposit, No Credit Card”Ā in cooperation with local partners on the island of Crete. By browsing the Website, sending a booking request or renting a car via our partners, you agree to these Terms.
Please read them carefully before confirming your reservation.

1. Who We Are

  • 1.1. RentGo Crete is a local-focused marketing and intermediary service that connects travellers with independent car rental companies (“Suppliers”) based in Crete, Greece.
  • 1.2. We do not own the vehicles. When you confirm a booking, the final rental contract is concluded directly between you and the selected Supplier.
  • 1.3. These Terms apply to your use of the Website and to our intermediary role. The Supplier’s own rental terms and conditions govern the actual hire of the vehicle and form part of your agreement.

2. Booking & Payment

  • 2.1. Booking requests can be made via our Website forms, by email, or through other contact methods listed on the Website.
  • 2.2. Some offers follow the “Car Rental Crete No Deposit, No Credit Card” idea – for example, no or low deposit and the possibility to pay by debit card or cash on arrival. However, not all offers are deposit-free, and not all Suppliers accept all payment methods.
  • 2.3. For each offer, the applicable payment options (credit card, debit card, cash), any deposit or excess, and the currency (usually EUR) are shown before you confirm your request and are repeated in the Supplier’s rental agreement.
  • 2.4. Unless otherwise stated, published prices generally include basic insurance required by Greek law, local taxes (such as VAT) and a standard mileage allowance. Optional extras (e.g. child seats, GPS, additional driver, extended insurance, out-of-hours delivery) may carry additional charges.
  • 2.5. A booking is considered confirmed only after you receive written confirmation (typically by email) from us or the Supplier.
We reserve the right to decline or modify a request if the vehicle is not available or if information provided is incomplete or clearly incorrect.

3. Driver Requirements

  • 3.1. Drivers must meet the minimum age and licence requirements specified in the offer and by the Supplier (for example 21–25 years minimum, depending on vehicle category).
  • 3.2. A valid driving licence must be presented at pick-up. Non-EU/EEA licences may require an International Driving Permit (IDP) in accordance with Greek law and Supplier policy.
  • 3.3. Drivers are usually required to have held a licence for a minimum period (e.g. 1–3 years). Exact rules, young driver or senior driver surcharges are set by each Supplier.
  • 3.4. Additional drivers must be declared at booking or at pick-up and may be subject to daily fees. Only drivers listed on the rental agreement are allowed to drive the vehicle.

4. Insurance & Liability

  • 4.1. All rentals include at least basic third-party liability insurance in line with applicable Greek law, supplied by the individual Supplier.
  • 4.2. Optional insurance (e.g. collision damage waiver, theft protection, excess reduction or full cover) may be available at extra cost. Coverage details, exclusions and excess amounts are defined by the Supplier and stated in the rental agreement.
  • 4.3. Insurance typically does not cover negligent or prohibited use, including but not limited to:
    • driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs,
    • off-road use or driving on unsuitable/unpaved tracks not authorised by the Supplier,
    • racing or competitive driving,
    • use by unauthorised drivers.
  • 4.4. Certain vehicle parts (e.g. tyres, wheels, glass, roof, underbody, interior) may not be fully covered under standard insurance. Please check the Supplier’s conditions carefully.
  • 4.5. In case of accident, theft or damage, you must follow the procedures given in your rental documents (for example: contacting the police, notifying the Supplier immediately, completing incident forms). Failure to do so may reduce or void insurance coverage and increase your financial responsibility.

5. Vehicle Use

  • 5.1. Vehicles must be used in a careful and lawful manner and in accordance with Greek traffic regulations and the Supplier’s rules.
  • 5.2. Unless explicitly authorised, vehicles may only be driven within Crete (and, if permitted, on scheduled car ferries to/from the island). Cross-border use or travel to other countries normally requires prior written approval from the Supplier and may not be allowed.
  • 5.3. Vehicles may not be used for:
    • illegal activities,
    • commercial passenger transport (e.g. taxi, ride-sharing) unless authorised,
    • driving lessons or towing other vehicles,
    • off-road or deep unsurfaced tracks that are not covered by insurance.
  • 5.4. Smoking and carrying pets is only permitted if expressly allowed by the Supplier and may result in additional cleaning or damage fees.
  • 5.5. The renter is responsible for all traffic fines, parking tickets, tolls, congestion charges and similar penalties incurred during the rental. Suppliers may charge administrative fees for handling these matters.

6. Fuel, Mileage & Extras

  • 6.1. The standard fuel policy is usually ā€œsame to sameā€ or ā€œfull to fullā€: you return the car with the same fuel level it had at pick-up. Alternative policies, if any, will be shown in the offer and the rental agreement.
  • 6.2. Many offers include generous or unlimited mileage; others may have a daily kilometre limit with a fixed per-km fee for extra distance. These conditions are always stated in the offer—please choose a plan that matches your planned routes.
  • 6.3. Optional extras (child seats, GPS, Wi-Fi, snow chains where applicable, additional driver, out-of-hours service) are subject to availability and extra charges as defined by the Supplier.

7. Pick-Up & Return

  • 7.1. Typical pick-up and return locations include Heraklion Airport (HER), Chania Airport (CHQ), nearby ports, and major resort areas across Crete (e.g. Chersonissos, Rethymno, Agios Nikolaos), depending on the specific offer.
  • 7.2. You must collect and return the vehicle at the agreed time and place. Late returns may incur additional charges (extra rental days, out-of-hours fees) according to the Supplier’s tariff.
  • 7.3. At pick-up, you are responsible for checking the vehicle’s condition and ensuring that existing damage is correctly recorded. At return, the car should be in the same condition, allowing for normal wear and tear.
  • 7.4. Failure to return the vehicle as agreed, or abandoning the car without proper notice, may lead to extra costs and may be treated as vehicle misuse or theft under applicable law.

8. Cancellations & Modifications

  • 8.1. Cancellation and change policies (including any free-cancellation period, penalties or non-refundable deposits) are indicated in each offer and may vary between Suppliers, seasons and rate types.
  • 8.2. Cancellations made within the free-cancellation window, where offered, are typically free of charge. Late cancellations, no-shows or failing to meet driver/credit requirements at pick-up may result in fees up to the full rental price.
  • 8.3. Modifications such as changing dates, car category, pick-up/return location or adding extras are subject to availability and may affect the total cost. The Supplier’s rules will apply.

9. Role of RentGo Crete & Limitations of Liability

  • 9.1. Intermediary role: RentGo Crete presents offers from local Suppliers, forwards booking requests and helps with communication. We are not a party to the rental contract between you and the Supplier and are not responsible for providing the vehicle or on-the-road assistance.
  • 9.2. Information on the Website (prices, images, vehicle descriptions, conditions) is provided by Suppliers or compiled in good faith. While we aim to keep it accurate and up to date, the details in your confirmed booking and the Supplier’s rental agreement always prevail.
  • 9.3. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentGo Crete is not liable for:
    • indirect or consequential losses such as missed flights, loss of enjoyment or business loss;
    • accidents, breakdowns, delays, traffic, road works, weather or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control;
    • acts or omissions of Suppliers or other third parties.
  • 9.4. During the rental, roadside assistance and support are provided according to the Supplier’s policy and contact numbers given in your rental documents.

10. Use of the Website

  • 10.1. The Website is provided for personal, non-commercial use to help you obtain information and request car rental offers in Crete.
  • 10.2. You agree not to misuse the Website, including but not limited to:
    • attempting to hack, disrupt or overload our systems,
    • using automated tools (bots, scrapers) in a way that affects normal operation,
    • uploading or transmitting malicious code or harmful content.
  • 10.3. All intellectual property rights in the Website’s content (texts, design, logos, images where applicable) belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or redistribute content for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

11. Governing Law & Disputes

  • 11.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply in your country of residence.
  • 11.2. We aim to resolve any dispute amicably. If this is not possible, disputes may be submitted to the competent courts in Greece or other courts as required by applicable consumer law.

12. Changes to These Terms

  • 12.1. We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our services, in partner policies or in legal requirements.
  • 12.2. The latest version will always be published on this page with an updated ā€œLast updatedā€ date. Continued use of the Website after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.
